  • Note: With the Original Signed wooden tomobako storage box. Matsuo Shigetoshi was born in Arita in 1929. After graduating from Nakauchi Yamanaka, study at the Prefectural Ceramics Institute in Arita. In 1945, it was first selected at Nitten. In 1948, at the 12th Japan Contemporary Art Exhibition, "Tide" received the first contemporary art award among Kyushu artists. He has received numerous awards including the Prefectural Exhibition, West Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and Japan New Craft Exhibition. In recent years, he has held a parent-child exhibition with his son Jun in Saga and Tokyo. Served as a member of the Nitten Kaikai and a judge of the Japan New Craft Exhibition. He exhibited his work at the British Museum.
